The Alliance for Excellence existed in the San Juan Unified School District in Sacramento, California from 1989 to 2004. Hopefully, the following web pages can be helpful to anyone interested in collaboration and partnerships between schools, communities and universities .

The most helpful pages in understanding the Alliance for Excellence project would be in the News section. There you will find quarterly newsletters from 1999 to 2004. Also located in that section are video clips that explain each of the sections and a document entitled 'Peeling the Onion' that was developed for the Alliance for Excellence's Community Partnership Council. As you look through the site, there are many outside links that will not work due to organizations that have changed web addresses and/or organizations that no longer exist. We hope that this site is helpful to you. We believe that history is important ... so that we continue to use the lessons we have learned.
